Our Commitment to Your Privacy
At Imposter Game ("we," "our," or "us"), we are committed to protecting your privacy with a privacy-first approach. Our word deception game is designed to collect minimal data - just player names for gameplay. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our platform, which offers both local gameplay (no data collection) and optional online features.
By using our services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. Local mode requires no personal data whatsoever.

We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Limited sharing only occurs when:

- Required by law, court order, or to prevent illegal activity
- Protecting our rights, safety, or the safety of others
- You explicitly give permission for specific sharing
Visible Game Information
In online multiplayer games, your player name is visible to other players in the same room. Room codes can be shared to allow others to join. Local mode games never transmit data outside your device.
Cookies and Local Storage
We use minimal cookies and browser storage for essential functionality:
Essential Cookies (Required)
Session authentication for logged-in users and security protection (CSRF tokens). These cannot be disabled without breaking functionality.
Analytics (Anonymous)
Google Analytics with IP anonymization to understand basic usage patterns. No personally identifiable information is tracked.
Local Game Storage
Your browser's local storage saves language preferences and temporary game state for local mode gameplay. This data never leaves your device.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies will prevent you from using online account features.
Data Security
We protect the minimal data we collect with industry-standard security measures:
- HTTPS encryption for all data transmission
- Supabase secure authentication with encrypted passwords
- Automatic session expiration and security tokens
- Regular security updates and vulnerability monitoring
- DDoS protection and abuse prevention systems
While we use industry-standard security practices, no internet transmission is 100% secure. However, since we collect minimal personal data (only email and player names), your exposure is significantly reduced compared to platforms with extensive personal information.
